Artesonraju; ....

General Information

Artesonraju is a beautiful pyramid-shaped mountain that can be recognized from the logo of the Paramount Pictures movie. It is a technical and difficult mountain to climb, with steep hard ice that can be mixed with deep unstable soft snow, and several serious ice fields and is only recommended for experienced and safe climbers. The two routes to climb Artesonraju are: - Through the Parón South Valley East Ridge 5 days - Via Santa Cruz del Valle del Norte East Ridge 6 days. Artesonraju conditions are often difficult and unstable. In general, each year the route on one of the sides proves to be dangerous with a high risk of avalanche and climbing, only the alternative route is attempted. The decision as to which is the safest route in conditions to climb often can not be made until a few weeks before or even days before the climb. When planning your trip you have to let more days pass in the event that the climb moves to the longest Northeast route for safety.

Maximum altitude: 6025 m. (Cumbre del Artesonraju).
Difficulty: Difficult
Preferred time: May to Sep
Place: Cordillera Blanca
Average temperature: Between 13 ° C - 23 ° C during the day / night -05 ° C to -02 ° C.
